NANO SOMA®: Conducting the Two Corticoid Chords

In my last blog, I spoke about the 3 nuclear receptors that regulate the sex hormones in our body. There are two more in this group of (steroid) hormone receptors that contribute to establishing harmony and homeostasis across our entire biological symphony. - The Glucocorticoid Receptor (GR)
Think of the glucocorticoid receptor (GR) as something that calms you down in times of stress and turmoil, keeping you from over-reacting.
When the GR is responding optimally during stress phases:
- It helps to maintain homeostasis during stressful situations, and
- it helps regulate genes involved in metabolic processes, including glucose production.
Just imagine the effect of the GR to be similar to taking cortisone as a medicine. It helps calm down the inflammation in the body, like what can occur with hay fever, asthma or rheumatoid arthritis patients.

This mainly helps regulates blood pressure and electrolyte concentrations.
But if the MR is suppressed or overstimulated, blood pressure can become too high or too low, as do the electrolyte levels in the blood.
